Lizmundo was founded in April 1970 by Augusto Fernando de Sousa Barbeiro, in Street Arq. Marques da Silva, one of the main entrances of Oporto city, where it still is today.
Since the begging its focus is mainly on construction materials, an area where Lizmundo always worked with the main brands nacional and international wide, betting mostly on coating, ceramic floors, sanitaries and bathroom and kitchen accessories.
In 2001 a new challenge arose beyond borders, and Maputo was the African capital chosen to host Lizmundo – Mozambique.
